SUNY Upstate Medical University Pilot Research Grant
Pilot Grant - Awards of up to $50,000 for one year are designed to provide support for new and innovative research ideas and to assist investigators in generating the necessary preliminary data for subsequent grant proposal submissions for federal funding. Funds are not for existing research projects or to be used as bridge grants. The targeted grant must be identified and have a deadline within 18-months of receiving funding.
Seed Grant - (Funding new projects to generate data for publication) Awards of up to $20,000 for one year are designed to generate the data necessary for publication(s), positioning the PI and/or research team for future grant applications and/or to answer a research question with an immediate clinical application. Publication(s) must be submitted within 18-months of receiving funding.

Applications are DUE annually on January 15 and July 15. In the case that the date falls on the weekend, the proposals are due on the following Monday.
