The patent portfolio of smaller life science companies is often decisive for attracting capital. Building a patent portfolio often requires costs in the beginning of the application process, which may be problematic for smaller Life Science companies, because the establishment of a revenue stream may take several years. We will present ideas for making your patent portfolio attractive for potential investors while keeping costs down. The development of your patent portfolio will be closely linked to your scientific development program. The need for continuous pruning of the patent portfolio will be discussed.
