Annual Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Lecture

Dr. Kornelia Polyak
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

Keynote speaker Dr. Kornelia Polyak is a professor of Medicine at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Polyak’s laboratory in Boston is dedicated to the molecular analysis of human breast cancer with the goal of improving clinical management. Dr. Polyak’s lab is at the forefront of studying purified cell populations from normal and neoplastic human breast tissue at the genomic scale and in situ at single cell level and to apply mathematical and ecological models for a better understanding of breast tumor evolution. Dr. Polyak has received numerous awards, including the 2012 American Association for Cancer Research Outstanding Investigator Award for Breast Cancer Research, and in 2015 was honored with the National Cancer Institute Outstanding Investigator Award. Her talk is titled: “Breast Tumor Evolution”
