Clark Endowment for Pediatric Research

Applications are now being accepted for funding (up to $15,000, for one year), from the Clark Endowment for Pediatric Research, an initiative established through the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital and Upstate Foundation.  Any faculty or staff member at Upstate Medical University/Golisano Children’s Hospital/University Hospital involved in pediatric research activities is eligible to apply for funds.  These funds may be used to support both basic and clinical research projects and research equipment relevant to child health.  Funds allocated in 2024 are available for the period from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. Making Connections in Media and Medicine

Jon Frankel

Jon Frankel is a three-time Emmy-award winning correspondent as a member of HBO’s Real sports with Bryant Gumbel. His career spans more than 30 years including local sports journalism and network news with NBC’s Today Show, ABC’s Good Morning America, World News and Nightline and CBS’ Early show. Many of Mr. Frankel’s stories intersect sports and public health such as his reporting on the gun industry, CTE and traumatic brain injuries in football, and the trials of skiing the World Cup’s daunting Hahnenkamm course. Jon was a correspondent on the acclaimed 2016 Real Sports expose on the International Olympic Committee that captured a DuPont-Columbia University broadcast journalism award and the Sports Emmy for Outstanding Sports Journalism.

Jon Frankel is graduate of the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science.
