According to 2022 statistics, Business Email Compromise (BEC) – not ransomware – is the number one cyber scam affecting small businesses today. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigations, it has resulted in more losses than any other type of computer fraud in the United States. Business Email Compromise can result in fraudulent wire transfers, direct deposit issues, vendor payment scams, and many other types of financial losses.
